Position Overview:
The Job Coach provides hands-on support, training, and encouragement to the client with disabilities in his workplace. The role focuses on helping the client develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed to thrive in his jobs. The coach ensures the individual feels empowered, integrated into the workforce, and successful in his roles.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the individual on the job site ensuring proper mentoring and success in the role based on the specific job duties the individual will be performing.
Assist the individual in understanding and performing job tasks.
Advocate for accommodations when needed to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
Provide step-by-step instructions, demonstrations, and reinforcement to ensure skill mastery.
Encourage and assist the individual in solving problems independently and developing new work skills.
Promote independence with job functions and provide skills training for how employees perform successfully on the job while modeling professional behavior in the workplace.
Provide support while considering the preferences of the individual. Actively encourage choice making.
Demonstrate an awareness of and respect for the client’s legal, civil, and human rights- including maintaining confidentiality of information regarding the individual.
Attend team meetings, training and seminars as assigned.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in social work, education, job coaching, or working with people with disabilities is helpful but not necessary.
Knowledge of best practices in supporting adults with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities is helpful but not necessary.
A valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
Dress appropriately or as required by the job site.

Work Environment:
The role may involve working in diverse settings, such as retail stores, offices, or industrial environments.
